Listening Session

Unfixed Archives: Listening After Snow

A listening session on field recordings, oral memory, and the fragile afterlives of mountain sound.

Programme note

This gathering brings artists, archivists, and listeners into a shared space for thinking about sound as a form of cultural memory. Through field recordings, spoken fragments, and guided discussion, the session asks what can be preserved, what resists preservation, and how listening can become an ethical practice.

Rather than treating the archive as a fixed container, the programme approaches it as a living relation between people, place, weather, technology, and loss.
